Overkill
Overkill sind seit vielen Jahren eine meiner absoluten Lieblingsbands,
vielleicht auch gerade deshalb, weil man sie aufgrund des eigenwilligen
Gesangs von Fronter Bobby "Blitz" Ellsworth und dem Overkill-eigentümlichen
Gitarrensound sofort identifizieren kann. Nachdem den Klassiker-tauglichen
Frühwerken folgt die kreative Hochphase der Band anfang der 90er
mit den genialen Alben "The Years of Decay", dem unterbewerteten "Horrorscope",
dem krachenden "W.F.O." sowie dem charismatischen Live-Doppelpack "10
Years of Wrecking your Neck". Danach folgten einige weniger mitreißende
Alben, bis sich die New Yorker Thrasher mit dem Live-Knaller "Wrecking
Everything" und dem Studioalbum "Killbox 13" eindrucksvoll im neuen
Jahrtausend zurückmelden.
